The staff were very friendly and helpful

I booked an all female dormitory and ended up the only female in the dorm, due to many males booking I assume. I was not informed of these change as I would have changed rather to a single room in ths instance.

It was a nice building and there were a lot of people staying there so (theoretically) lots of potential to meet people. Also 24hr security desk

The beds were uncomfortable and the furnishings throughout we're very run down. The girls bathroom had 2 toilets and 2 showers which was good, but only one sink and mirror. The staff wasn't unfriendly but did nothing to get you engaged or make you feel welcome. The first morning we planned to have breakfast but at 10:30 they were still waiting for their breakfast guy to show up. Wifi was also very slow and spotty. Even for a backpackers, this place was disappointing. There are tons of other backpackers to stay at in Cape Town and Big Blue did nothing to make me want to go back there...

Perfect location, private room with bathroom, no noise, clean facilities, friendly staff, close to public transport and waterfront.
